BOL News Anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan on Friday presented before the judicial magistrate and the court reserved decision on the plea of FIA for Riaz’s physical remand.

Advocate Ali Ashfaq appeared in the court as Imran’s counsel and said that no reasons were mentioned in the physical remand request submitted by the FIA.

He also said that Imran Riaz has been accused of hate speech and the FIA petition claimed that Riaz’s speech falls within the territorial limits of FIA.

Mian Ali Ashfaq further said that making this statement is not a crime, “There is no person in this court who is not a patriot.” He added that the federal government is putting filthy allegations against his client.

The counsel also underscored that Imran Riaz has not targeted any state institution.

Pertinently, Imran Riaz Khan was arrested by FIA yesterday. According to the details, the anchor was detained at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while he was departing for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The anchorperson was detained on the same day that Islamabad Police detained PTI ally, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
