Deworming Campaign begins from tomorrow in Karachi

• The drive will continue till February 11.
• Deworming helps to avoid malnutrition and anemia.
• Health department is targeting over 4mm children.

KARACHI: Sindh Minister of Health Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho announces the start of the deworming campaign that will be taking place in Karachi from February 06 to 11.

The last campaign took place in 2021 and successfully dewormed 2.6mm children. Deworming helps to avoid malnutrition, anemia, and a host of other illnesses from taking place.

Dr. Azra Pechuho urges parents to use this upcoming campaign from February 06 to 11 to have their children dewormed.

She said the Sindh health department is targeting over 4mm children aged between 5 to 14 and adolescent girls aged 15 to 18, as these girls may go on to become mothers later on and their nutrition and other health indicators must be robust.
