ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry said Monday that if elections are not held on time, then it will be a violation of the constitution.
He was addressing the media outside a court when said that the police failed to produce any challan against him and he is willing to know what sort of betrayal he has committed.
“The challan has to be submitted within 14 days as per the law,” he added.
The PTI leader also said that the responsibility of the Election Commission is to conduct elections but they are not fulfilling it.
Chaudhry said that PTI will submit a contempt of court petition against the members of the election commission.
The former minister said that PDM is not ready to contest the elections.
Pertinently, Fawad Chaudhry appeared in the court with his lawyer Ali Bukhari accompanied by Faisal Chaudhry and Magistrate Waqas Ahmed Raja.
At the outset of hearing, the court inquired regarding the challan to which the court was informed that the investigating officer (IO) failed to submit it.
The court ordered to call the IO to find out the delay in the submission of challan despite passage of 14 days.
The court while instructing the IO to submit challan before the next hearing adjourned the case till March 18.
