BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday kicked off the election campaign as the elections in Punjab comes closer.
Addressing the worker’s convention in Bahawalpur, Maryam Nawaz urged the people to get ready for the party’s sweeping victory in the upcoming polls.
She also conveyed Nawaz Sharif’s regards to the people of Bahawalpur. “Nawaz Sharif asked me to begin the political campaign from Bahawalpur.”
She said their opponents were mistaken that the PML-N has been suppressed, but now it is the turn of the party. “They are neither weakened nor oppressed, I salute people who supported Nawaz Sharif in tough times,” she said.
While expressing grief over the Peshawar Police Lines blast, she said that precious lives were lost in the incident. She prayed for the lives lost and for a peaceful Pakistan. “We should be grateful that Pakistan has survived the conditions being faced.”
She said Imran Khan destroyed the country in four years and planned to stay in power for 12 years by mortgaging the nation to the IMF.
Maryam Nawaz said even when she had no position in the party, the people supported her. She said party titles have recently been given and she is grateful for the support than formal titles.
Maryam said that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif have saved the country from developing a situation like Sri Lanka.
When PML-N went to the IMF program, petrol was not made expensive. He said that the PML-N government completed the IMF program but it was brought back by the previous government.
She said Imran Khan Khan was the prime minister for 4 years but held only eight meetings of the parliament on security which he did not even attend.
He further Shehbaz Sharif is being blamed for the current situation even though Imran was in power and is not apologizes to the United States after being removed from power.
