MULTAN: Police on Wednesday said they did not arrest Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Amir Dogar, rather he turned himself in along with the party workers in Multan, Bol News reported.
Police said the PTI workers were arrested for they created anarchy at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office. The ECP had filed a complaint against them, so the FIR was lodged as per the law, they added.
Police have shifted the former MNA to Cantt police station. 20 workers were also arrested, said the police.
Amir Dogar was arrested in Multan in the aftermaths of a clash outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) district office on Wednesday.
According to Bol News TV, Amir Dogar has been detained from his house by the police in Multan.
Moreover, the police have also arrested PTI workers along with former MNA.
Talking to the Bol News TV, PTI senior chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, senior leader Asad Umar condemned the arrest of Amir Dogar and workers and termed it worst political victimisation.
Fawad Hussain Chaudhry has called the arrest a part of Court Arrest movement.
