ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday moved Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking to restrain his transfer from the federal capital to Karachi.

Sheikh Rashid filed the petition through his lawyer Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan. In the petition, he maintained that he quoted Imran Khan’s accusations in his statement.

The former minister also said that the plaintiffs are not affected parties in cases against him and requested the court to stop more cases being filed against him on the basis of political rhetoric.

“Declare the cases of Abpara, Murree and Karachi as illegal,” he added.

Sheikh Rashid also requested the high court to stop his transfer to Karachi until the final decision in the case is announced.
