Covid-19 positivity ratio in Pakistan is continuing to rise on daily basis, with at least 103 new Covid-19 cases were reported within the country in past 24 hours, the National Institute of Health (NIH) reported.

NIH reported a 2.20% positivity rate of Covid in the country, with provinces including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh on a major attack.

It added that Pakistan’s active Covid-19 cases currently stands at 1,243.

Recently seven cases had been reported in KP during the last 24 hours, after which the number of effectees in the province had reached to a figure of above 0.2 million.

Although, more than 0.2 million people in KP had recovered from the disease, but 6, 376 people had lost their lives in this fatal disease.

165 Corona tests were conducted in KP during the last 20 hours, following which 113 turned out to be active cases; the health department reported.

The positivity ratio in Karachi jumped to 28.30% in last 24 hours, while the positivity ratio remained 100% in cities of Hyderabad and Swabi.

In addition, the Covid positivity ratio in Islamabad was recorded as 12.20%; NIH reported.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had recommended people to wear masks at crowded enclosed spaces and healthcare facilities.

According to NCOC, the guidelines were issued for the period up to April 30, 2023, in light of the current Covid-19 trend across the country.
