ISLAMABAD: 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit different parts of the country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Rahimyar Khan, ID Khan and other cities.
Strong shaking was also felt in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul and Indian capital, New Delhi.
No casualty has been reported from any part of the country so far.
The tremors of the earthquake were felt at past 9:00 pm. The Department of Meteorology said that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush mountain range of Afghanistan.
The depth of the earthquake was recorded on the Richter scale at 180km, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Severe quake tremors were felt throughout the country, after which severe panic spread among the citizens.
In Lahore, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala, Jhang, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Patuki, Mianwali, Shahkot, Kamalia, Borewala, Phullangar, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Khushab, Okara, earthquake tremors were felt.
After which the citizens got scared and came out of their houses and started reciting Kalima Tayyaba.
An alert has been issued in Islamabad’s Polyclinic and Pims Hospitals to tackle any untoward situation.
