PTI to hold nationwide protests against Zaman Park operation: Fawad
PTI will hold nationwide protest against Zaman Park operation Fawad Chaudhry said...
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif compared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to the extremist Indian organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as police clashed with party workers.
On his Twitter handle, the prime minister said, “If anyone had any doubt, Imran Niazi’s antics of the last few days have laid bare his fascist & militant tendencies,” the prime minister said in a tweet.
“From using people as human shields to throwing petrol bombs at police to leading ‘jathas’ to intimidate judiciary, he (Imran) has taken a leaf out of the RSS book,” he added.
The remarks came as scores of police personnel and PTI supporters were injured in clashes during intermittent operations at Zaman Park, Lahore.
Police conducted an operation at Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park and arrested dozens of party workers. They also arrested at least 35 workers and even claimed to have recovered petrol bombs used to attack police.

Maryam demands ban on PTI
A day earlier, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that the government should deal with the PTI as a terrorist organization and ban the party. She said the time has passed to hold dialogue and negotiate with the deposed prime minister.
In a hard-hitting press conference, the PML-N leader lashed out at the former premier for creating a “scene” at his Zaman Park residence and “revolting” against the state institutions.
She once again opposed the provincial assembly elections, saying that national resources should not be wasted on the vote that had been forced by “one person”.
“Why should elections be held first in Punjab and then in K-P and then for the National Assembly?” she posed a question. She insisted that her party was ready for elections.
Referring to the violence at Zaman Park earlier this week, when the PTI workers prevented the police from arresting Imran,
The PML-N leader said violence outside Zaman Park was an act of insurrection. She said Imran Khan is responsible for the economic downturn in the country.
She charged that Imran was disseminating his message to his workers from his Zaman Park residence the same way terrorists used to spread their propaganda messages. She alleged that “even terrorists were kept at Zaman Park” to attack the state.
She said authorities been have arrested Imran Khan within “five minutes” but the police backed off because of the concern for the people there.
