LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leaders have said that the warrant brought by the Islamabad Police was not of arrest, Bol News reported.

Focal Person to PTI Chief Barrister Hassaan Niazi said warrants were not for arrest. He said there was no mention of the arrest in the warrants. “Nothing to worry or panic. It’s a summon through non-bailable warrant. No mention of arrest. At last hearing Zafar Iqbal was trying to put life of Chairman IK in danger. F8 Court have faced terrorist attack in past,” he said.

PTI leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the court warrant was only for attendance. “Islamabad police’s insistence on arrest is illegal,” he said.

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said they would announce the next course of action after consultation with the lawyers. He said Imran Khan kept appearing before the courts.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said there was no mention of arrest in the court notice. “The workers should calm down, we have received the notice,” he said adding that Khan talked about national unity in his address a day ago.

“The notice brought by the police has no mention of arrest. Imran Khan’s life is in danger. Another assassination plan has been concocted against Imran,” he said.

He said the former prime minister said he was ready to pardon those who attacked him.
