KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) Friday urged the citizens of Karachi belonging to all sects to join hands with the party in the struggle for the prosperity of the city.

The party announces to have a public gathering tomorrow (March 18) at 6:00 pm.

Terming Karachi the economic hub of the country, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that if Pakistan is to be saved, it is crucial to guard the rights of the metropolitan city.

“Karachi will not accept any dummy leadership,” he highlighted.

The MQM leader opined that the ‘right to rule’ of the people of Karachi must be accepted adding that if the city grows only then Pakistan can prosper.

Urging the people of interior Sindh and Karachi, MQM said that people regardless of their sect, religion or race must come forward for the future of their upcoming generations and must join hands with MQM for the progress and prosperity of the city.

He while touching on the past struggles of the party said, “We request you all to keep the traditions alive of your ancestors and come out of your homes.”

“All the people living here are facing similar problems and they all should join the struggle of MQM not only to save Karachi but to strengthen Pakistan.”

Maqbool reiterated that Karachi was the first capital of the country and despite shifting the center from here, the city remains the business hub and economic center and still plays its role in the development of Pakistan.

MQM-P while underscoring the importance of youth put forward the invitation for the youngsters of Karachi to join the cause. “We also invite the youth to join hands with us in the struggle that will continue till the development of Pakistan.”

Meanwhile, Mustafa Kamal said that Karachi has given chance to everyone but still no gain.

“PPP got a chance for 15 years while PTI for four years but both parties did nothing.
Whatever is done for the city was by MQM.”

He also made it clear that if the PM comes to the party for support, MQM-P will not accept the offers and will only put forward the demand for amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan.
