ISLAMABAD: Following the decision announced by Supreme Court in regards to the delay in Punjab and KP polls, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to postpone the Jail Bharo Tehreek.

PTI will be suspending the Jail Bharo movement and is to approach the court for the release of the leaders.

It has been decided to approach the court for the release of the captive leaders who were arrested.

The sources have said that a joint petition is being prepared for the release of imprisoned leaders in Punjab.

On the other hand, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is also expected to address the public at 7 pm today.

He will discuss the decisions of the Supreme Court and other political issues.

Apart from this, Imran Khan will announce the plan of action after the suspension of Jail Bharo movement and will talk to the public regarding the preparations for the elections.

On Tuesday (Feb 28), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan congratulated to Sahiwal leadership & team for their massive peaceful protest Jail Bharo (court arrest) movement against total violations of our fundamental rights while crushing the people in unprecedented inflation.

Leaders and activists, who have been arrested during the Tehreek-i-Insaf’ Jail Bharo Tehreek (court arrest) are being shifted to remote jails of the province.

According to the list, 24 PTI leaders and workers have been transferred to District Jail Layyah.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been transferred to Attock Jail, Azam Swati to Rahim Yar Khan Jail, Murad Ras to DG Khan, and Waleed Iqbal to Layyah.

Umar Sarfaraz Cheema has been transferred to Bhakkar Jail, Muhammad Madani to Bahawalpur, Asad Umar to Rajanpur Jail.

However, PTI tigers ready to present their arrests on the sixth day of Jail Bharo Tehreek in Sargodha today.

Preparations in this regard are being done and party workers are ready to present themselves on the call of PTI Chief Imran Khan.

On Sunday, PTI leader and Former federal minister Nazar Mohammad Gondal, former MNA Tariq Sahi, Vice President Chaudhry Azhar Iqbal and more than 125  workers have turned themselves in on the call of their party chairman Imran Khan, who has announced the ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ (court arrest) against the government’s economy and unconstitutional policies.

PTI leaders and workers in a caravan reached from Mandi Bahauddin to Gujranwala for the court arrest. The excited workers were raising slogans against the imported government and reciting party anthems at the time of the arrest.

They said that they were fully ready for the court arrest on the behest of their party chief and they were very enthusiastic for every kind of sacrifice.

In Gujranwala, the sufficient number of prisoner vans were not available to accommodate the arrested leaders and workers.

They vowed to continue their struggle for real independence and getting rid of the imported government.

However,  PTI leaders Fayyaz-ul-Hasan Chohan, Zulfi Bukar and others, who were arrested from Pindi, were sent to Adiala Jail after the volunteered to court arrest as part of the Jail Bahro Tehreek.

In his message outside Adiala Jail, Zulfi Bukhari said they are waiting for Imran’s next call and will go out with full force. He thanked party activists who stood by them and said the entire leadership has proven that they will be the first to court arrest

“Those who have run away are Nawaz Sharif, those who will not run away are PTI leaders,” he said. “We are not running away, we are in the same country, we will also go to jail.”

Fayyaz Chohan said the PTI leaders have been brought to Adiala Jail. He said police was not willing to bring them to jail but they remained determined.

Earlier today PTI leaders Zulfi Bukhari and Fayyaz Chohan have been arrested from Rawalpindi Commitee chowk. PTI leader Amir Kayani, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed, and others reached Committee Chowk to voluntarily surrender to police.

PTI leader Fayyaz Chohan along with 10 other PTI workers was arrested along with Zulfi Bukhari and Ejaz Khan and taken away in prisoner van. Former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and Ghulam Sarwar Khan were also present but were not arrested.

Imran congratulates Peshawar leadership

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday night tweeted a congratulatory message to the workers and local leadership regarding the Jail Bharo Tehreek (Court Arrest) in Peshawar.

Imran Khan said that the local leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaf by coming to the front made the Jail Bharo Tehreek successful with the zeal and commitment.

The chairman PTI also shared the video of the participation of a large number of workers in the Jail Bharo Tehreek in a twitter message.

However, the second day of Jail Bharo Tehreek kicked off in Peshawar today where several of the workers are ready to give arrests.

The PTI Peshawar has issued the names of the workers who are to present arrests today by Senator Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry.

Former governor of Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, and former provincial ministers Atif Khan, Shahram Tarkai will voluntarily present themselves for arrest.

Fazal Elahi, Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq and Arbab Waseem will also arrest along with the workers.

Yesterday, PTI kicked off Jail Bharo Tehreek in Lahore and the PTI leaders Shah Mahmood, Asad Umar, Azam swati and Umar Sarfaraz Cheema were arrested.

Police hadalso arrested PTI Lahore General Secretary Zubair Niazi.

At the beginning of the movement, as many as 200 workers were expected to present themselves for arrest today.

Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that the PTI is set to start the Jail Bharo campaign for two main reasons, one is against the attack on constitutionally-guaranteed fundamental rights and the second is against the economic meltdown brought on by a “cabal of crooks who have money laundered billions in looted wealth and gotten NROs for themselves.

Meanwhile, PTI had also announced that if the arrests are not made then the party will go for a sit-in at the Charing Cross.

The political party would organise an event in honour of the leaders and workers at 12:30 pm tomorrow. Later, the leaders and workers would depart for Charing Cross en route Jail Road under the leadership of PTI Central Punjab President Dr Yasmin Rashid.

Pertinently, PTI has announced the movement as a strive to win a date of elections from the federal government.
