ISLAMABAD: Following the verdict pronounced by the Supreme Court (SC) on the delay in polls in Punjab and KP, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders lauded the apex court for the historical move.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that it is the win of the constitution and termed it a unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema said that the SC has saved the constitution with this decision, “Now the cowards will have to face the people.”

PTI leader Hammad Azhar said that today’s decision is the victory of democracy and constitution. “The political parties that escaped from the electoral field must face public accountability.”

On the other hand, Dr Yasmin Rashid said that the SC’s verdict is the victory of truth.

“Defeat has been written in the destiny of the imported ruling group,” she added.

Pertinently, SC pronounced the verdict reserved yesterday and ordered the government to hold elections in KP, Punjab within 90 days.

The court maintained that the date given by the President is constitutional for Punjab but the date announced for KP was declared null and void.

The apex court ordered governor KP to announce the election date in consultation with ECP.
