PTI’s Shah Mahmood Qureshi granted interim bail in six cases

Lahore High Court on Monday granted protective to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in six cases regsistered against him, BOL News reported.

The court also granted bail to Senator Azam Swati in two cases. Qureshi and Swati appeared in court and sought protective bail in the cases lodged against them.

They said the cases against them are baseless and filed on political ground. They urged the court to granted bail so they should appear in court.

The case of arson and violence against the police, stone pelting, petrol bombs and burning of police vehicles in Zaman Park.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema filed an application seeking interim bail in the case relating to rioting and violence outside Imran Khan’s resident in Zaman Park.

Both appeared in the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore and filed an application seeking interim bail. They maintained that they wanted to be involved in the investigation but can be arrested. They urged the court to grant interim bail as terrorism cases have been registered in the Race Course ground.

They maintained there are allegations of arson and violence against the police, pelting stones, throwing petrol bombs and burning of police vehicles against them.

An anti-terrorism court of Islamabad has approved bail of PTI leaders Asad Umar, Ali Nawaz Awan, Murad Saeed and others in the case pertaining to vandalism at the Judicial Complex during the appearance of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

PTI’s Raja Khurram, Shehzad Waseem and Zulfi Bukhari have also been bailed in the case. The judge hearing the case said, “This time you guys have charges of robbery as well.”

PTI counsel Babar Awan said they were going to file for bails in the new cases also.  The court has adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
