LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have been arrested in various raids conducted by Police in Islamabad and Lahore late at night on Sunday.
The police carried out raids at the residences of PTI leaders including Shibli Faraz, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Khurram Nawaz, Ali Mohammad Khan, Anjum Tanoli, Shafqat Mehmood, and many others.
On the other hand, PTI leader Liaquat Turi was arrested, Malik Usman and former councilor Yasir were also detained by the police.
Moreover, police also raided the houses of PTI candidates in the upcoming elections.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan while taking to Twitter said that raids are being conducted without warrants and where they are unable to detain workers, they are picking up children under 10 years of age.
“We demand immediate release of our workers and their children who are been abducted.”
Meanwhile, Fawad Chaudhry said that hundreds of PTI workers’ houses were raided in Lahore and Islamabad and the ones detained are in police custody.
“Police violated the sanctity of ‘Chadar, Chaar Dewari’.”
