LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill on Monday asked the chief justice to take suo moto notice of case of Bol TV Co-Chairman Shoaib Shaikh, Bol News reported.
“Shoaib Shaikh spoke the truth without yielding to pressure. He was kept in jail for speaking the truth through Bol News. Bol News’ truth exposed Rana Sanaullah and other characters. The elites stopped ads of the channel to block the path of Shoaib Shaikh,” Shahbaz Gill said talking to Bol News.
Shoaib Shaikh was kept in jail for 18 months and no affectee turned up against him in the bogus case based on a report of newspaper, he said adding that he was sorry over his arrest. Shoaib Shaikh’s crime was that he was born in a poor family, he added.
He said the Bol TV co-chairman was being punished for thinking about development of the country. He was being punished for launching Bol News, he said.

The PTI leader said he boosted IT export of the country. He provided jobs to the middle class and poor people, he added.
Another PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said the only crime of Bol News was speaking. He said injustice to Shoaib Shaikh will be held accountable. The way Bol News combated oppression was laudable, he said. The oppression would go on until people would come out of their houses, he said.
