- Says PTI chairman will have to pay the price for May 9 mayhem.
- Said seat adjustments with the PDM would be made after the assembly’s dissolution.
- Said preparations for the elections have already begun.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif stated that the assemblies would dissolve in August after completing their tenure, and preparations for the elections have already begun.
He mentioned that the previous government, led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), had the option to dissolve the assemblies earlier but decided against it due to the potential negative impact on the country’s economy.
Asif also criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, accusing him of dissolving the KP and Punjab assemblies against the disagreement of his party members and planning violence on May 9, which he deemed as a dark day in Pakistan’s history.
Additionally, other PML-N leaders expressed their party’s strategy for the upcoming general elections, stating that they would not form an alliance with any political party.
Muhammad Zubair, former federal minister of PML-N, also claimed that PTI is not in a position to contest the elections, regardless of its chairman’s disqualification.
The minister also disclosed that all pending cases against the PTI chairman will enter their final stages within the next month and a half, signaling potential legal repercussions for former prime minister.
Added that decisions regarding joint ventures or seat adjustments with the PDM would be made after the assembly’s dissolution.
