
Nepal earthquake: PM Kakar expresses grief over death, destruction
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Asim Jameel, son of well-known religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel.
In a statement, he prayed that May Allah Almighty grant the deceased a place in Jannah and grant patience to the bereaved families to bear this loss.
Earlier, son of renowned religious scholar Tariq Jameel was shot dead on Sunday.
The incident took place in Tulamba Tehsil of Khanewal district of Punjab.
According to initial reports, Asim Jamil’s body was shifted to Tulamba Hospital.
Meanwhile, police have also initiated the investigation of the incident.
DPO Khanewal Rana Umar Farooq Salamat confirmed that Asim Jamil was shot dead, saying he got a bullet in his chest.
“Nephew of Tariq Jamil has claimed that Asim Jameel shot himself,” Salamat added.

On the other hand, Maulana Tariq Jamil took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the demise of his son.
“My son Asim Jamil passed away today in Tulamba. This accidental death has made the atmosphere mournful,” he wrote.
The religious scholar added, “We request you [people] all to remember us in your prayers on this miserable occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in Jannat.”
