The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Saturday fixed the government appeal against the top court’s decision in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendment case.
This government appeal has been filed for hearing, with the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office designating it as Government Appeal Number 2/2023.
The initiative stems from a directive by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, who called for the compilation of a list of appeals against decisions made under Article 184/3.
The process involves the preparation of a comprehensive list of appeals challenging court decisions linked to Article 184/3, underscoring the commitment of the judiciary to address pertinent legal issues.
The compiled list will subsequently be submitted to the Practice Procedure Committee, a move that aims to streamline the handling of these appeals.
The Committee has been granted a timeframe of 14 days to make decisions regarding the scheduling of these appeals for hearings before a larger bench.
