ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja has said that all institutions are respectable, but the Election Commission stands on its stance.

He said this while having informal talk with mediapersons at the ECP Headquarters on Thursday. Elections have been held in February in past.

Sikandar maintained that the ground of Election Commission is double concrete, when he was asked.

Why polling day has not been kept on Sunday, a journalist asked.

The CEC in a jibe said, “Let the school children get another holiday on this excuse.”

He said that He had never refused to meet the president in the past.

In the Supreme Court, we had given the date of 11 February. We also gave the date of 11th in the letter to the President, then it was unanimously decided that the election should be held on the 8th
