The Election Commission of Pakistan has reserved its decision on the admissibility of a petition concerning prohibited funding allegations against PTI.
During the hearing, a two-member bench, led by the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, considered the case with petitioner Khalid Mahmood Advocate present.
The petitioner raised concerns about PTI allegedly continuing to receive prohibited funding, despite a decision by the Election Commission in 2022.
Khalid Mahmood Advocate claimed that approximately 100 donors contributing funds from London to PTI had fake identity card numbers.
In response to queries from the Chief Election Commissioner Raja about how this information was obtained, Khalid Mahmood stated that he gathered the details from PTI and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) website.
Requesting a re-examination of PTI’s accounts based on the presented evidence, Khalid Mahmood urged the Election Commission to scrutinize the party’s financial transactions once again.
The Election Commission reserved its decision on the admissibility of the petition related to the alleged prohibited funding by PTI.
