Tanveer Ahmed, a Pakistani businessman, donated $9 million to a Pakistani university on Thursday.

The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad needy students will be provided scholarships from the money donated by a Pakistani entrepreneur.

With the donation of Tanveer Ahmed, 200 students will get the scholarship every year through endowment funds. The donation of $9 million provided by Tanveer Ahmed is the largest donation to any Pakistani university.

In this regard, the entrepreneur said that there are also plans to extend the scholarship scheme to other universities. In the coming month, a scholarship scheme will be formally inaugurated in Islamabad, and deserving students will get the scholarship on merit under the Higher Education Commission.

The entrepreneur expects that the students who get the scholarship will make a name for themselves in IT, IA, and other modern fields.

He further claimed that the overseas Pakistanis are indebted to their homeland, where we are today because of our homeland.
