PESHAWAR: Preparations for general elections have begun in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a list of 5,000 teachers has been prepared to perform duties during the elections, Bol News reported.
The Education Department has sent a letter to the education officers to prepare the staff as soon general elections would be held.
The letter said a list of teachers of four towns was ready. The teachers’ list does not have IBN and em-mail addresses. The letter instruction the relevant officers to include more information in the list and dispatch the verified list to the education department in two days.
On November 4, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) had issued instructions to the media for coverage of general elections.
The PEMRA had said that according to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the general elections would be held on February 8, 2024 in the country. In this regard, all media channels should ensure adherence to the PEMRA Rules 2015.
The PEMRA said that it was the responsibility of every Pakistani to make democracy, democratic values, and elections transparent, people and institutions should cooperate fully for conducting transparent elections and electronic media had a key role in raising awareness among the people.
