SIALKOT: Mother of Usman Dar, leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has leveled serious accusations against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif of being behind the attack on her house.

Urging Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa to address the issue, Dar’s mother alleged, “I was asleep at home when Khawaja Asif had my house attacked again. [They] broke the door and entered my house.”

She went on to describe being physically mistreated during the incident, stating that she was manhandled, with her shirt torn and hair pulled.

Despite the attack, Dar’s mother asserted her determination to file nomination papers for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8 next year, insisting that no intimidation would deter her. She even expressed her willingness to participate in the polls even if she faced imprisonment.

In response to these allegations, Khawaja Asif denied involvement in “such vengeful politics” and emphasized his respect for political rivals and their families.

Asif pointed out legal challenges faced by his wife and son, maintaining that his politics is grounded in commitment, principles, and loyalty to the people.

The District Police Officer (DPO), Hasan Iqbal, clarified that the police raided the house to apprehend Umar Dar, wanted in various cases.

The DPO refuted claims of physical assault on women during the raid, stating that the women in the house used inappropriate language.

According to the DPO, Umar Dar has taken actions against the state, leading to the registration of cases against him, and he remains in contact with his family through social media.
