One of the founding members of the PTI, Akbar S. Babar has vehemently rejected the intra-party election conducted by PTI, citing serious concerns about the violation of democratic principles within the party.

In a press conference, Akbar S. Babar stated that he intends to bring forth the facts regarding PTI’s intra-party election, emphasizing the absence of a voter list and the denial of an opportunity for workers to submit their papers.

According to him, these actions openly violate the constitution and infringe upon fundamental rights, marking a serious breach.

Expressing his discontent, Babar highlighted the involvement of a select few lawyers in determining the course of the intra-party election, asserting that this has led to a fraudulent representation of democracy within PTI.

He drew attention to the historical context of PTI’s intra-party elections, stating that if Justice Wajeha’s suggestions had been accepted, PTI would have evolved into a more organized entity.

Babar criticized the current state of affairs, remarking that lawyers who are typically educators of law in Pakistan have become associated with fraudulent practices.

Accusing PTI of being hijacked not only recently but also in the past, Babar made it clear that PTI completely rejects the results of the intra-party elections.

He predicted that more challenges lie ahead for PTI, stressing that senior leaders within the party wanted to participate in the elections but were unable to do so.

In conclusion, Babar expressed the rejection of PTI’s intra-party elections and anticipated further difficulties for the party in retaining the ‘bat’ symbol.
