Another resolution submitted for postponement of February 8 Elections in Senate
Another resolution was submitted to the Senate secretariat for the postponement of the February 8 scheduled elections.
Senator Hilal-ur-Rehman, an independent senator from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), submitted the postponed resolution.
In the resolution of Hilal ur Rehman, it has been said that due to the severe cold and snowfall preventing citizens from voting in a safe environment in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, candidates face innumerable challenges in running their election campaigns.
In the submitted resolution in the Senate secretariat, it was also said that there has been a threat of terrorist attacks on the candidate due to security issues in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. There is a sense of deprivation among the voters and the candidates.
Furthermore, the senator added that the election date in KPK is proving to be inconvenient; therefore, general elections should have been postponed to a suitable date instead of February 8.
It should be remembered that earlier, a resolution was also submitted to the Senate Secretariat to postpone the election, while Jamat-e-Islami Senator Mushtaq Ahmed also submitted a resolution to conduct elections on time in the Senate Secretariat.
