ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister and leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Firdous Ashiq Awan has sought a written apology in the case related to slapping a policeman.

The case related to the slapping of a policeman by the leader of Stabilization Pakistan Party Firdous Ashiq Awan was heard in the Election Commission, the case was heard by a two-member bench headed by Member Election Commission Sindh Nisar Durrani.

During the hearing, Firdous Ashiq Awan submitted a written reply to the Election Commission asking for forgiveness, while a written reply was also submitted to the Election Commission on behalf of the affected police officer.

Member Election Commission Sindh inquired who are you to take the law in hand? We didn’t expect you to slap, on inquiry Firdous Ashiq said that the gambling was wrong, I apologize for it, there was a strange atmosphere at the polling stations, the law was there to protect me, the crowd was harassing me, while the police were spectators.

The two -member bench said that The Election Commission will issue the order for today’s hearing later.
