KARACHI: Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Wednesday resigned from the party following their defeat in the 2024 general election.

Mansoor submitted his resignation to the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, citing personal reasons for his departure.

It’s noteworthy that Khawaja Sohail Mansoor had been contesting as a PPP candidate from NA-250 district Central, North Nazimabad, against Hafiz Naeem from JI and Farhan Chishti from MQM-P in the 2024 general elections.

In 2023, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, a former MNA of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P), had joined the PPP. His decision was announced during a joint press conference with PPP Sindh chapter president and provincial minister, Saeed Ghani, who welcomed Mansoor and his supporters to the party.
