Murad Ali Shah on behalf of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Ali Khurshidi on behalf of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan have submitted their nomination papers for the Sindh Chief Ministerial slot.

The newly elected Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Awais Qadir Shah, has released the schedule for the election of the Sindh Chief Minister after assuming his office, according to which the nomination papers can be submitted till 5 p.m. today.

According to the schedule, the nomination papers will be scrutinized at 6 p.m. today and the list will be released at 7 p.m., while the election of the Chief Minister of Sindh will take place tomorrow (Monday) at 2 p.m..

In this regard, Murad Ali Shah’s nomination papers were submitted by Member of Assembly Ghulam Qadir Chandio.

Earlier, the PPP-nominated candidate Syed Awais Qadir Shah has been elected as the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly (SA) by 111 votes.

Speaker and Deputy Speaker are being elected in the Sindh Assembly today. After voting for the post of Speaker, the counting has been completed.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, in which nine independent candidates supported by PTI and the only newly elected member of the Assembly of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) took the oath, after which secret polling started, the PTI announced a boycott of this election.
