In Islamabad, there’s a forecast for rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall in Murree, Galyat, and other tourist spots in Pakistan, from Sunday night to Tuesday (February 25–27).

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is expected to move into Balochistan on Sunday night (February 27), followed by its likely impact on the upper regions of the country on Monday (February 26).

Due to this weather system, Murree, Galyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohat, Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur are likely to experience rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills from the night of February 25th until February 27th, with intermittent breaks. Additionally, isolated hailstorms may occur during this period.

Possible Impacts and Advice: Snowfall could potentially cause traffic disruptions in Murree, Galyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli on the evening and night of February 26th and February 27th. Moreover, there’s a possibility of landslides in Murree, Galyat, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan during this forecasted period.

The minimum temperature in Murree is expected to range between -2 and 0 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

During the past 24 hours, freezing conditions were observed in Murree, Galyat, and other tourist spots in Pakistan. Malam Jabba experienced 3 mm of rain and 1 inch of snowfall.
