Ramadan 2024 Crescent Moon to Emerge by 2pm on Sunday: PMD
Shaban was expected to start in Pakistan on February 10; however, the moon of the eighth Islamic month has not been sighted.
As individuals eagerly awaited the arrival of the month preceding Ramadan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee declared that the Shaban moon had not been sighted anywhere in the entire country.
Following the declaration by the primary authority, the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a notification to inform the public of the official decision.
Ruet has announced that the first day of Shaban 1445 Hijri will be on February 12 (Monday), and Shab-e-Barat will be observed on February 26.
Shab-e-Barat would be observed on February 12, 2024 (Monday).
Muslims commemorate Shab e Barat annually, also known as The Night of Fortune and Forgiveness, which precedes the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. This night is characterized by a strong religious fervor as believers engage in special prayers and offer nawafil in mosques. These prayers are dedicated to seeking unity, prosperity, security, and the restoration of peace in the country, as well as the prosperity and unity of the entire Muslim Ummah.
Some traditions refer to it as the night of blessings and accountability, during which Almighty Allah makes collective judgments regarding the lives, deaths, bestowments, and blessings for the upcoming year.
