The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain, wind, and thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday.

Continental air is predominant over most parts of Pakistan, with a weak westerly wave expected to enter the upper regions of the country on Thursday evening or night, moving eastward on Friday.

Given these conditions, rain, wind, and thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills are anticipated in the twin cities, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Islamabad’s minimum temperatures are expected to range between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 09-11 C on Friday, while Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 12-14 C on both days.

During the last 24 hours, dry weather prevailed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and most parts of the country. Chhor recorded the highest temperature in the country at 41 C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30 C, with relative humidity during the evening recorded at 74 per cent. In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 29 C, with relative humidity during the evening recorded at 46 percent.
