The FIA Anti-Corruption Islamabad Circle conducted an operation targeting individuals engaged in the illicit sale of counterfeit and unregistered medications, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect named Mazhar Iqbal in the federal capital. The individual in question is employed at a pharmacy located in the Diplomatic Enclosure of Islamabad. It’s noteworthy that just last week, two suspects were detained from the same pharmaceutical outlet.

During the operation, the FIA seized counterfeit and unregistered drugs from the suspects’ possession, which were subsequently confiscated in the presence of officials from DRAP. These drugs were being sold at exorbitant prices in the black market. Specialized teams have been formed to conduct raids on establishments where counterfeit medications are peddled and to apprehend those involved in this illicit trade.

Joint teams comprising personnel from the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and the FIA are actively taking enforcement measures and have pledged to prevent any endangerment of innocent lives. All available resources are being utilized to apprehend the culprits involved in this unlawful activity.
