ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been invited to the upcoming apex committee meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), scheduled for tomorrow (May 25), according to sources.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally invited the KP chief executive to join the session. The SIFC meeting, convened by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is set for 11:45 am on May 25 (Saturday).

Initially, it was reported that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had not received an invitation.

Chief ministers from Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan were asked to attend the SIFC meeting. This exclusion led the KP government to express dissatisfaction, accusing the central government of “biased moves.”

Top officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, and ministers of information, finance, defense, planning and development, commerce, law and justice, water resources, along with provincial chief secretaries, are expected to attend the session.

The SIFC was established in June 2023 to unite provincial and federal government representatives, along with military officials, in a decision-making forum.

Its objectives include finding solutions for economic revival and increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows. The council is overseen by an apex committee composed of the prime minister, the chief of army staff, chief ministers, and other high-ranking government officials.
