Christina Goldbaum, journalist of the American newspaper New York Times has endangered the lives of Pakistani street performers in the country as she wrote in the paper using biased words that Pakistani street performers are actually tools of the secret agency.

Setting aside journalistic norms and traditions, Christina Goldbaum in her article said that the beggars, garbage collectors and street performers roaming the streets of Pakistan appear to be begging on the streets, but in reality they work for the Pakistani intelligence agency.

Christina Goldbaum, who has never criticised the street performers who performed on the streets of America and Europe, asking for financial support from the passers-by, censured the famous street performer of Pakistan, ‘Golden Man’.

It is surprising that the pen of Goldbaum  never wrote any article against these thousands of street performers of Europe and America and did not call them the tools of the secret agencies of these countries.

It should be remembered that the street performer named ‘Golden Man’ in Islamabad belongs to the province of Sindh, who gives his performance on the street like a static statue.

Golden Man has won the hearts of the citizens of Islamabad, especially of the children. He survives only on the money given by the citizens.

It should be remembered that Christina Goldbaum is also the bureau chief of the New York Times in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Christina wrote in her article that there are street performers like Golden Man on the streets of Pakistan who are secret agency informants, these people are apparently street performers but their real job is to keep an eye on politicians and other citizens.

The lives of Pakistani street performers have been put at risk because of Christina Goldbaum’s column.

Anti-national elements can target them on the basis of this article, these poor street performers like Golden Man can be killed by any terrorists as ISI agents.

In that case, the blood of these poor street performers will be on the heads of Christina Goldbaum and the New York Times.

This hypocritical and double-standard action by Christina Goldbaum and the New York Times is abhorrent and should be condemned everywhere.
