SHENZHEN: At the Pakistan-China Business Conference, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extolled China’s remarkable development as a model for emulation, underscoring the conference’s role in fostering stronger business ties between the two nations.
Prime Minister Sharif urged a forward-looking approach, stating, “We should forget the past and move forward. If we stay in the past, we will not be able to move forward. The Chinese city of Shenzhen has achieved development in a short period of time, which is an example for us.”
He lauded China’s ascent to a global economic powerhouse under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, noting its success in exporting agricultural and dairy products worldwide. Sharif highlighted China’s transition from traditional systems to modern development methodologies.
Sharif affirmed the Belt and Road Initiative’s role in ensuring progress, with China initiating projects across Pakistan’s provinces aimed at business and development rather than mere financial assistance. He reassured that the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan would be a priority.
The Prime Minister cited Shenzhen’s progress as an inspiration, detailing Pakistan’s initiatives to curb corruption, facilitate business operations, and realize Quaid-i-Azam’s vision for the nation’s development.
In response to the tragic loss of Chinese citizens, Sharif expressed profound condolences to their families and emphasized China’s esteemed status as a trusted ally that has consistently supported Pakistan.
On this occasion, he encouraged Pakistani entrepreneurs to emulate the Chinese paradigm of business, advocating for Pakistani enterprises to enhance the global presentation of their products.
