
New Monsoon Spell Starting Today in Karachi
More monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Sunday night, continuing into the next two days with occasional breaks.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper and central parts of Pakistan and are expected to strengthen on the evening or night of July 22. A trough of westerly wave is also present over the upper regions of the country.
Under these conditions, isolated rain-wind/thundershowers are likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday night.
On Monday and Tuesday, further rain-wind/thundershowers are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Kasur, and Okara. Hot and very humid weather is forecasted for the rest of the province.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature is likely to range between 38-40°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the last 24 hours have seen hot and humid weather across most parts of the province, with isolated rain-wind/thundershowers occurring in some areas.

Attock remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Bahawalpur was recorded at 43°C, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan at 42°C.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 56 percent.
