Dawood University of Engineering & Technology Karachi, Vice Chancellor Dr Samreen Hussain was attacked by unknown gunmen   in Orangi Town, here on Tuesday.

However, Dr. Samreen remained safe in the incident.

Dr. Samreen said that she went to Orangi Town Girls College in connection with the 14th August event when unknown persons opened fire on her vehicle in the parking lot.

Dr. Samreen is the wife of PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain.

SSP West Hafeez Bugti said that the matter is not a street crime, adding that investigation is underway.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Linjar has sought details of the incident of firing from the DIG West.

The teams including the district force should be mobilized to arrest the accused, he directed.

Security measures related to the transfer and movement of important personalities should be informed, the minister said.
