The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a severe weather warning for Karachi, forecasting heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday.
The city has already experienced intermittent rainfall in several areas, including Sharea Faisal, Malir, MA Jinnah Road, Saddar, and the Old City.
The PMD reports that south-western winds are blowing at 11 kilometers per hour, with a maximum temperature of 32°C expected for the day. Morning humidity levels were at 85%.
Previously, the Met Office forecasted multiple heavy rain spells for Karachi from August 4 to 7. The city may see rainfall ranging from 40mm to 60mm, with some areas possibly experiencing up to 100mm.
Karachi has been dealing with monsoon rains in recent days, causing waterlogging in low-lying areas on July 31. Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this period of severe weather.
