More intermittent monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan on Wednesday night and Thursday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are affecting the upper parts of the country, along with a westerly wave.
This weather pattern is likely to bring rain and gusty winds to the twin cities, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, the Pothohar region, and northeast Balochistan on Wednesday night. Some areas, including Islamabad, the Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and northeast Balochistan, may experience heavy rainfall.
On Thursday, similar weather is predicted, with more rain and gusty winds expected in the twin cities, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, and northeast Balochistan. Heavy rainfall is also possible in some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir, and northeast Balochistan. Hot and humid weather is anticipated in other parts of the country.
For Islamabad, the maximum temperature is expected to be between 32-34°C on Thursday and Friday, while in Rawalpindi, it will likely be between 31-33°C.
In the last 24 hours, monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls have been reported in Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeast Punjab, and northeast Balochistan.

Nokkundi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Maximum temperature in Chilas was recorded at 43°C, and Dalbandin at 42°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 74 per cent.
