RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday that former ISI chief Lt General (retired) Faiz Hamid has been taken into custody by the military.

The military’s media wing stated that the Pakistan Army conducted a detailed court of inquiry, following the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s orders, to investigate the complaints against Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hamid in the Top City Case.

As a result, the ISPR noted that disciplinary action has been initiated against the former intelligence chief in accordance with the Pakistan Army Act.

Additionally, the ISPR confirmed that multiple violations of the Pakistan Army Act after his retirement have been found against the former general, who previously served as the Peshawar corps commander.

The statement further mentioned that the process of a Field General Court Martial has begun, and Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (Retd) has been placed in military custody.

Following the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s orders, the Pakistan Army conducted a thorough court of inquiry to verify the complaints made against Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (Retd) in the Top City Case, said the ISPR.

As a result, disciplinary action has been initiated against him under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act.

Furthermore, several violations of the Pakistan Army Act after his retirement have also been confirmed. The process for a Field General Court Martial has begun, and Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (Retd) has been taken into military custody.
