Intermittent rain with isolated heavy downpours and gusty winds is expected in Peshawar and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night and Tuesday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are moving into central and southern Pakistan and are likely to affect the northern regions tonight.

Under these conditions, rain and gusty winds are expected in Waziristan, Bannu, Kurrum, Kohistan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Batgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Malakand, Peshawar, Mohmand, Khyber, and Bajaur on Monday night, with isolated heavy falls possible in Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Dir, Swat, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar, and Bajaur.

On Tuesday, more intermittent rain and gusty winds are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Batgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, and Bannu, with isolated heavy falls likely in Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Dir, Swat, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar, and Bajaur.

These downpours may cause flash flooding in local streams and nullahs in Mansehra, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, and Swabi. Landslides could also disrupt traffic in vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 32-34°C on Tuesday and 31-33°C on Wednesday.

Rain, wind, and thundershowers were reported in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 89 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 79 per cent.
