President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday have paid tribute to martyred police officers and personnel and said that their sacrifices in line of duty and eradication of crimes were unprecedented.
In their separate a statements on Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police being observed today, they said day reminded them of the valour and bravery displayed by the police force.
They said entire nation was proud of its martyred police personnel and saluted them on their sacrifices.
President Zardari highlighting the role of police force during the success in fight against terrorism said that Jawans of police force had been sacrificing their lives, fighting with terrorists and anti social elements in different parts of the country.
The Prime minister assured that federal government would take all possible steps for the provision of education and health facilities to the children of shuhada, adding that the bereaved families would be taken care of in every possible way.
National Police Martyrs’ Day is being observed today to pay homage to services of police department.
The day aims to honour brave policemen of the nation and express solidarity with their families.
Special functions will be held across the country to appreciate sacrifices of police force for establishing peace.
On the occasion of Police Martyrs Day, Speaker of National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted invaluable sacrifices made by police officers and personnel in the fight against terrorism.
He said whole country takes pride in the brave young men and officers of the police force and sacrifices of the martyrs will always be remembered.
The Speaker expressed solidarity with the families of the police martyrs who lost their lives in the war against terrorism and other incidents.
In a message on Police Martyrs Day, the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed profound admiration and respect for remarkable sacrifices made by all police martyrs.
She said that there will be no compromise on honoring martyrs and Punjab government is utilizing all resources for welfare of families of martyrs.
The main function in connection with Police Martyrs Day is being held in Peshawar today to pay homage to police martyrs.
Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Kashif Zulfiqar and Director of Public Relations Department of KP Police Shahzada Kokab Farooq said in a press conference that Martyrs’ Day will be celebrated in a dignified manner.
Blood donation camps have been organized.
Hundreds of police officers up to the rank of Additional IGP have been martyred during the last two decades.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor and the Chief Minister have paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of police in war against terror.
In his message, the Governor said nation would never forget services and sacrifices of police force for protection of motherland.
In his message on the occasion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur appreciated the spirit of the police force and said that the government would provide them all needed help to perform duties in an efficient way.
