Under the directive of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the nationwide issue of passport backlog has been successfully resolved.

The Director General (DG) Passport team has successfully cleared the backlog of passport cases in all major cities, ensuring timely issuance.

In Islamabad, 14,673 cases were resolved, while Karachi processed 83,227 passports. Lahore’s Garden Town cleared 30,848 cases, Raiwind addressed 4,872, and Shadman completed 11,490. Cities like Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar also made significant progress, resolving 7,252, 18,400, and 23,145 cases, respectively.

Across the country, 5,650 urgent passports and 15,848 home delivery cases were completed.

Additionally, 17,972 normal and 41,712 urgent passport cases were processed through embassies.

DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi confirmed that the “passport backlog has been zeroed out in all major cities” and efforts are underway to completely eliminate the issue across the country. Staff are working around the clock to ensure the timely issuance of passports.
