ISLAMABAD: A man was killed on the spot while three others injured in an explosion in Karikot village bazaar adjacent to Wana in South Waziristan district on Sunday.
According to local Police, the blast was reported in Karikot village market in a vehicle that killed a man and injured three others, a private news channels reported.
The man killed in the explosion has been identified as Shamsuddin s/o Malik Jamil, according to police.
The rescue officials reached the spot and rushed the injured and the body to the district headquarters hospital in Wana.
Two terrorists have been killed during an intelligence based operation by security forces in Kalat district of Balochistan.
According to ISPR, the troops surrounded and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from them.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and innocent civilians in the area.
Sanitization operation is underway to neutralize any other terrorist present in the area.
Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts aimed at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appreciated the officers and personnel of the security forces for successful operation against terrorists in Kalat, Balochistan.
In a statement, he said the security forces showed courage and professional skills in the operation that resulted in killing of two terrorists.
He said Pakistan will continue the war against terrorism till the complete elimination of this menace from the country.
