ISLAMABAD: Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reportedly refused to support the government’s constitutional amendment, sources said.
Former federal minister called on the JUI-F chief the previous day and discussed the country’s overall political situation, the sources further said.
Fazl told Durrani that the JUI-F is in the Opposition and will remain in the opposition in future too.
The Maulana said that to support the government is tantamount to inviting the anger and wrath of the masses. He added that they would not back the government’s anti-constitution and anti-democracy legislation.
Meanwhile, the JUI-F senior leader Hafiz Hamdullah in a statement said that the JUI-F is a part of the Opposition and will sit on the opposition benches in future as well.

The Hafiz maintained that they were not compelled to join the government and support it, being a part of the government is no use and a political death.
He said that they had no trust in the present government as everyone knew who was running the actual government.
The Hafiz said that the Parliament has lost its independent status, adding that the JUI-F is struggling for the independent parliament.
