KARACHI: A news anchor of private TV channel was killed in a road mishap on Shahrah-e-Faisal, here on Sunday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza said the anchorperson, identified as 40-year-old Syed Abdullah Hassan, was driving a car when he struck a footpath near a traffic signal.
Rescue services transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The DIG further said that the fatal accident occurred due to over speeding.
The body was shifted to mortuary near Numaish Chowrangi. Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon and Additional IG Javed Odhu expressed condolence over the tragic death.
Pakistan People’s Party Central Spokesperson Shazia Marri expressed deep sorrow and regret over the death of news anchorperson Abdullah Hassan in a road accident.
Shazia Marri condoled over the death of Abdullah Hassan with the bereaved family. “In this hour of sorrow and difficulty, the family of late Abdullah Hasan share their grief,” Ms Marri said.
