The funeral prayer for the brave martyr, Constable Abdul Hameed Shah of Islamabad Police, was conducted with great respect and honor on Sunday at Express Chowk.

A police statement revealed that the ceremony was attended by Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Interior Secretary Captain (r) Muhammad Khurram Agha, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, along with senior officers from Islamabad, Punjab police, Frontier Constabulary, and numerous officials from law enforcement agencies.

IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, in his tribute, reaffirmed the unwavering resolve of the police force to protect and serve the citizens. He emphasized that every officer is committed to the values of martyrdom, standing united against any threat to the community.

Rizvi honored the sacrifice of Abdul Hameed, who gave his life in the line of duty, commemorating it with deep respect. A large gathering of police officers, law enforcement officials, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended the funeral prayer to pay their final respects. The attendees expressed their condolences and offered Fatiha for the martyr’s soul.

Rizvi recounted that during a violent protest by a political party the previous day, Shaheed Constable Abdul Hameed Shah was abducted by miscreants, tortured, and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, attaining martyrdom.

Shaheed Constable Hameed had been assigned law and order duty at 26 No Chungi and was a member of the Investigation Wing of Islamabad Police. Having joined the force in 1988, he was just three months away from retirement.

The funeral procession concluded with a solemn salute, and IGPs along with senior police officers laid floral wreaths on his body. His remains were then transported to his hometown with full official honors, symbolizing the nation’s profound gratitude for his ultimate sacrifice.

The sacrifice of Constable Abdul Hameed adds to the list of 63 brave officers from Islamabad Police who have given their lives in service to the nation. Each of these heroic individuals embodies the police force’s steadfast dedication to protecting the lives and property of the people, a commitment that remains unshaken despite any obstacles.

IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi remarked that Constable Abdul Hameed’s courage and sacrifice continue to inspire and serve as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by all those who serve and protect.
