After the recent protest in the federal capital, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised law enforcement’s efforts to restore “peace” in Islamabad.

On Sunday, PM Shehbaz met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss the current situation in Islamabad, where law enforcement effectively reestablished order following the disturbances.

The Prime Minister recognized the contributions of the Islamabad Police, Pakistan Army, Punjab Police, and Rangers in maintaining law and order.

He paid tribute to Constable Hamid Shah, who was martyred while protecting citizens, expressing heartfelt condolences to his family. PM Shehbaz instructed that the martyr’s family be looked after and emphasized that the nation would remember Shah’s sacrifice.

He also stressed the importance of security and stability, announcing that major highways have been reopened and that normalcy is returning to Islamabad.

Additionally, PM Shehbaz reiterated his commitment to economic growth and dismissed political adversaries who he claimed cannot accept Pakistan’s progress.

During the meeting, Minister Naqvi briefed the Prime Minister on the return of 56 Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka, with repatriation costs covered by Abdul Aleem Khan. The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of both the Interior Minister and the Privatization Minister in this matter.
