The Punjab Health Department announced that 110 new cases of dengue fever were reported across the province.
Most of the new cases were in Rawalpindi, with 90 reported there, followed by three in Lahore, five in Attock, and two each in Chakwal, Sialkot, and Sahiwal. Single cases were also found in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Jhelum, Vehari, and Hafizabad.
This week, a total of 737 new cases have been reported, bringing the total number of dengue cases in Punjab for 2024 to 6,633.
The Health Department assured the public that hospitals are well-equipped with necessary medications and can handle the rising number of patients.
Health officials are urging people to keep their surroundings clean and remove standing water to prevent the spread of dengue. They stressed the importance of following preventive measures and cooperating with health teams working in affected areas.
Additionally, the Health Department has set up a helpline at 1033 for those seeking information or wanting to report dengue-related issues. They are urging the public to stay aware and follow preventive steps to control the spread of dengue in Punjab.
